On May 9, 2026, Toronto's luxury interior design community gathered at 188 Brentworth Avenue in North York for the grand opening of Classico Roma's new boutique showroom. SoftCanada was in attendance, and what we witnessed was a brand moment done right.

About Classico Roma
For those unfamiliar, Classico Roma is one of Toronto's premier destinations for luxury and modern Italian furniture. Their existing showroom is located at 77 Samor Road in Toronto, and they have built a reputation as the city's go-to source for expertly handcrafted furniture, lighting, and decor sourced from skilled artisans around the world. Their philosophy is simple: luxury should feel personal, not performative. Every piece is selected with Italian and European design sensibilities at the core — craftsmanship, proportion, and material quality considered non-negotiable.
The New Showroom
Walking into the space, the first thing you notice is scale. High ceilings give the pieces room to breathe, and the lighting design alone communicates intent — warm back-lit panels, statement chandeliers, and track lighting that works with the room rather than fighting it.
The floor is laid out as a series of residential vignettes rather than a traditional retail floor. You move through styled living room setups, dining configurations, and accent arrangements that feel inhabited. Standout displays included a curved olive velvet sectional paired with a resin coffee table and bold tropical print cushions, and an all-white L-shaped sectional beneath a sweeping wall installation of metallic discs in layered gold, silver, and bronze finishes — the kind of piece that would anchor any room it enters.



A Room Full of the Right People
The opening drew a diverse crowd of interior designers, entrepreneurs, and tastemakers who moved through the space with the ease that comes when an event is well-hosted. One detail worth noting was a framed certificate on display, signed by Rudy Cuzzetto, MPP for Mississauga-Lakeshore, extending official congratulations from the Province of Ontario. A local business earning that kind of formal recognition signals genuine community standing.
Classico Roma also understood the assignment visually. A branded black and gold step-and-repeat backdrop anchored one end of the venue, and guests made full use of it. The photos from the evening look more like a fashion event than a furniture opening — which is exactly the right energy for a brand sitting at the intersection of design and lifestyle.
North York Was the Right Move
The GTA luxury furniture market has grown considerably, and Classico Roma's decision to open a dedicated North York location reflects real demand in that corridor. North York's concentration of design-forward developments and culturally diverse affluent communities makes it a smart placement. More importantly, rather than simply expanding an existing footprint, they built a standalone boutique experience — a signal that the brand is thinking carefully about how it is perceived, not just where it shows up.
